Our History

Czech Feather & Down Co. was originally started in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1885, and has kept alive for well over 100 years the dying art of handcrafted feather and down pillows, comforters and feather beds. We also provide a variety of custom-made products and renovations. Handed down through our family from generation to generation, Czech Feather & Down Co. is steeped in the traditional methods of pillow and comforter making.

We use only the highest quality ticking, feathers, and down from the U.S., the Czech Republic, and Germany.

Each product is handcrafted by a single individual, from the first cut of our new ticking to the final stitch of your finished product.

After the product is filled, it is hand-weighed to ensure the proper measure and mixture of feathers and down.

All seams are double stitched to maintain the quality of fill and to produce a long-lasting and durable product that can be handed down to future generations.

In the final stages of production, each product is fluffed, kneaded, and reweighed to ensure a proper and even fill.

Each product tag is signed by the individual craftsperson who made your Czech Feather and Down product.
